Along the lakeshore in the borough of Lachine, not only will you find plenty of green spaces where you can sit and relax as you look out over Lake Saint-Louis just a few feet away, but also a range of food options from restaurants and cafés to ice cream shops and everything in between. Breakfast, lunch or brunch? If you’re not exactly sure what you’re in the mood for, Comptoir St-Jo might be the perfect pit stop.
Recently opened, St-Jo is a new place in an old building conveniently located on the corner of Boul. Saint-Joseph and Tenth avenue in what used to be an antique store. A neat and simple decor, an inviting terrasse and a friendly owner have made me a returning customer.
In addition to your typical coffee list and viennoiseries, you can find a few less common snacks such as pistachio croissants (my personal favourite). If it’s more than coffee and pastry that you want, then stop by around lunchtime as they also serve full meals and alcohol, and the menu changes weekly. There is even a small grocery section where you can find regional and specialty bottles of wine, pestos, frozen goods and their claim to fame: fresh bagels.
