My bowling career has taken a new turn in the winter of 2023. Up to that date I used to play every 5 years. But since January it has already been three times and this changes everything. My job started a bowling league this winter, in teams of 6 players and we meet twice a month at Quilles Moderne Inc. Actually many of us thought we signed up for bowling, but in fact, we entered the duckpin bowling world… The concept remains the same as regular bowling but the balls are smaller without holes for the fingers and the pins are slightly larger than the kingpin. Long story short it’s a lot of fun too.
As in every bowling place, entering such a place brings you into another world, and you lose the notion of time immediately, 2 pm or 2 am it’s the same and I bet you will think of the Big Lebowski. But it’s really the atmosphere here that transports you: the wall of bowling shoes, the view of the old CRT TVs, the hockey game played live, the furniture colors, the regulars playing on their lines, the food served - I go for two hot-dogs all dressed and a local beer and the game can start - all of it makes it a great moment.
