The Valentin Stüberl is one of my favorite spots in my favorite district, called Dreimühlenviertel. I don't know why it's called Valentin Stüberl. My assumption is, it comes from the name of an old Bavarian comedian called Karl Valentin (died in 1948), who has his own Museum in the Isartor. But before I tell you any stories, I'd have to ask the owner.
For me it's an all season bar. In summer you can sit outside enjoying the flair of the Dreimühlenviertel and the nice facades of the old buildings. Inside are a lot of places to sit, for example in front of the counter, on the window bench, behind the bar next to the DJ, but mostly you have to stand, because it's often crowded. The photo wallpaper next to the entrance reminds me of the eighties party rooms in the basement. It matches very well with the rest of the Valentinstüberl.
Autumn is the season I go there very often. So next time you come to Munich, you will probably find me inside staring at this huge wallpaper.
