This charming place is located in a small street in Haidhausen and I believe you would never find it unless someone pointed it out to you.
To me it looks like what I imagine a typical Munich restaurant looked like in the 1940s. The audience I would describe as 30 plus and a bit bohemian. Although it is a proper restaurant it feels much more like a gastro pub. You can also have breakfast there and enjoy the Sunday paper or just go for a few beers after work.
The food offer is seasonal and between traditional Bavarian food with a bit of a twist and international dishes. I can recommend the "Schweinebraten" (pork roast with dark ale gravy) which of course is a classic.
One of the best things about the Kloster is that you can sit outside overlooking the "Herbergshäuser" (hostel houses) which Haidhausen is well known for. They were inhabited by day labourers who had come to the city to find work. As they couldn't afford to live in town they shared houses across the river so in fact these hostel houses are an early version of apartment buildings.
