In the old Prishtina quarter, about 50 metres behind “Sami Frashëri” gymnasium, lies the loveliest cafe in the entire city. A family-owned business that shelters all the early birds and nurtures them with coffee before sending them out to school or work. It’s common to find a few groups of students in their school uniforms (me included), bundled up around their tables trying to do their homework while having their morning coffee or tea during recess. You can also have a crunchy toast for breakfast or my absolute favourite snack- the chocoflex.
I have 3 years worth of memories with every season being more beautiful than the last in this little nest; summers are hot but free, winters are warm but cozy and the springs and autumns make you feel like you’re in a Parisienne neighbourhood.
I have graduated from high school but I still love to go there sometimes after work with one of my high school friends and reminisce about the early mornings we spent there and the livelihood of it.
