The NEWBORN brew is what I imagine fun dorm lobbies in the US to be like and I base that on nothing but Hollywood movies, which aren’t a great reference point, but still. This fun-dorm-lobby type of spot recently opened on the corner of a small street close to the main square in Prishtina. It is easy to recognize only because there are always two or three people at the entrance, out to smoke or waiting for some friend to show up.
The first time I went there, I remember opening the door and immediately feeling a cozy warmth and a sense of comfort, and that is the main reason I keep coming back. It is a cute spot for both unwinding and getting your productivity on. I’ve come here to work, study, and journal as much as to simply hang out with friends.
If you look around, you will see people on their laptops with books and highlighters spread across the table, people lounging, talking excitedly to one another, grabbing a drink, or even enjoying a sweet. At the same time, there’s usually a row of tables at the back with people playing board games and since they have a monthly program of events, often there are people gathered to enjoy a trivia night, book club meeting, or even art exhibition together. Sound like the perfect movie dorm scenario, right?
