Papirun has become the master of sandwiches in town. Period. Me, my family, friends and colleagues generally agree on that statement. I bet many people do too, as the place is super crowded on any day of the week. Main reason? Authentic sandwiches with freshly baked bread, filling salads and homemade soups — oh and it’s cheap!
Papirun is the epitome of ‘started from the bottom, now we’re here’. Originally, a tiny sandwich bar located in a small corner in the city center, it could barely fit 10 people in. Back in high school (that’s a billion years ago), me and my friends would often order the food and eat it outside because the place could get claustrophobic.
Now, Papirun has expanded in every aspect. Bigger location, greater variety of sandwiches, burgers, fajitas and salads, and way more customers. It is frequented by people of all ages and backgrounds. Prishtina’s mayor, bankers, high school and university students, international organizations’ employees etc, can be seen there during lunch hour. After all, food unites us all, right? Especially when it is THIS delicious.
Taste varies, but if you’re a pesto fan like me, try the Chicken Crunch sandwich with pesto sauce. If you’re in for something heavier, Roast Beef sandwich is also a delish option. But honestly, anything from the menu is top, so I’m done recommending…
Ugh. I’m hungry already. I’m definitely heading to Papirun now that I’m done with this article. See you one day maybe?
