Those were the words that popped into my mind when I visited the place for the first time. Located on the side of a busy street a few minutes of walking distance from Prishtina centre and the Palace of Youth and Sports, the tavern appears as an oasis of serenity to a thirsty traveler. It is a nice place to be, year-round.
In warmer months, Trock Taverna has two lovely terraces where people can sit. I usually prefer the side under the quince tree, especially if I go there by dusk or evening. The tree is dotted with soft, glowing light bulbs that add a touch of magic to the place. There are tasteful flower arrangements throughout the place that add a feeling of polished, rustic ambience. The interior is elegant and cozy at the same time. There are tables by the large glass panes to enjoy the view by day. In the winter evenings, I prefer a cozy corner near the bar in the non-smoking area.
A couple of times a week, there are live music performances by well-known local artists. The place offers traditional local food, mostly meat-based dishes, with grilled vegetable side orders. I really like how they make the sesame-honey-grilled white cheese, which is the perfect companion for their fresh baked bread buns. The entire experience at the place makes you fall in love with life again and again.
