What would a warm season be without a relaxing moment on a rooftop terrace?
One of my long traditions every summer is to go at least once to a rooftop terrace for a drink, chat and a relaxing moment. There are several nice places in Riga to enjoy the beautiful view from above, but my choice is always the roof terrace on the shopping center Gallery Riga. With a very central location, it has a great terrace on the 8th floor named "AVANTGARDEN" with a bar and four food sports to choose from – a stylish one named “Herbārijs”, a relaxed one named “Mission Canteen”, the highest-quality Asian culinary in "wok hei" and burger place “Backyard Burger” as an always good option. It’s possible just to take the ice cream, go onto the roof and sit down a bit to enjoy the view from above, however.
The view of Riga is available from a 360-degree angle, so it’s only a decision about when and with whom to go. All the rest is there – the atmosphere above the street noise, the beautiful view, drinks, snacks, Instagram photo places and a chance to be distanced from the everyday hurry and stress. Of course, the sunsets are very impressive from this terrace, so it is a good idea to end the day here.
