Non-alcoholic people, stay away from this spot - you can risk getting drunk just by looking at all the beers and wines exhibited on the walls.
This is one of my favorite place in Testaccio neighborhood to have an aperitivo: cheeses, cold cuts, torte rustiche, pastas with different sauces and more and more. Variety and quality are the strong points of this spot. Oasi della Birra is a beautiful mix of a grocery store, restaurant, pub and wine bar, situated in an old Roman tavern.
The place is very characteristic with its checkered tablecloth and its familiar ambience, and its bottom floor resembles a medieval tavern; it’s really nice. Outside there is a veranda overlooking Piazza Testaccio, one of the big popular hearts of Rome, where the famous Fontana delle Anfore is located. The space outside is not so large, and at rush hour you might be sitting with other people at the same tables on the same long bench, which is really cool if you are sociable.
The choice of beers and wines is impressive.
