By Ami is like no other place in Rotterdam. Walking in you need to stop to take it all in. It is colourful, instagramable, hip, funky and industrial all in one. You know you are in for a treat. If you can brilliantly combine the interior, what can be done with the food?
Brilliance, that’s what. There are colourful lattes which look super cute, but that is not all. The lunch options are diverse — I am a fan of the By Ami Complete so I can have a bit of it all, the pumpkin lentil soup is lovely and homemade, the kroket is divine and the tuna salad is fresh and not smothered in mayo. There are also fries to complete it all. The ceviche salad is inspired and the passing high tea platter was enough to grab agendas to plan the next By Ami date.
The desserts are just the perfect “wow what a week” treat and are out of this world! The vegan chocolate date pie is somehow light and comes with the best coconut sorbet I have ever had. I am one of the weirdos who does not like cheesecake — that was before I had a bite of the Rollo cheesecake at By Ami. With a side of raspberry sorbet, I will happily skip to the gym for these indulgences. One of the best features is the clear view from the terrace overlooking Katendrecht. By Ami is my happy place.
