Nestled beneath the monumental arches of the Hofbogen, Man met Bril coffee was the first cool spot I stumbled upon upon moving to Rotterdam. Its stylish interior, set amidst the historic railway viaduct, exudes an inviting atmosphere.
The early bird appeal is real at Man met Bril. With doors opening at 7 am on weekdays, a delectable breakfast deal awaits those who arrive before 10 am, priced at EUR 9.99. Fresh orange juice, coffee or tea, avocado with egg, and a croissant with jam make it a breakfast paradise, urging even the sleepiest to rise early.
Passionate about their coffee craft, the staff boasts their roasting facilities and extends great advice on selecting beans. My love affair with their Brazilian roast began when purchasing espresso machine beans, and its chocolaty essence is a delight to savour.
The cafe often doubles as my workspace with its quick internet and ample plug points. However, the charm lies in meeting fellow coffee enthusiasts, inadvertently turning work sessions into conversations. They not only host delightful coffee, but also workshops for aspiring baristas, fostering a community around the art of a perfect cup.
