The Dutch may not be known for their cuisine but that does not mean we do not have some delicious food! Personally, I think poffertjes, our fluffy mini treats, closest compared to pancakes made on a special hot iron griddle, are the best thing ever. Served with icing sugar and butter it is the happy grin after your first bite that you will always remember.
The variety in toppings or accompaniments is endless. Fortunately, the best place to get them is right here in my hometown, at Seth Poffertjes Salon. Seth is a family business that has been around for as long as I can remember. I have been coming here ever since I was a small curly girl. In a life where everything changes, Seth has managed to stay the same: the best quality poffertjes and many other Dutchie favorites. The vintage atmosphere inside is cozy and stepping back into a simpler time. The terrace is one of the sunniest you can find opposite the Martkhal (make sure to check the article). The service is always friendly and warm. And my gluten-free companions fear not! They have gluten-free poffertjes and honestly, you cannot taste the difference compared to the OG version. If you want some authentic Dutch snacks and the warmth of Rotterdam, you now know where to go.
