De Burgemeester distinguishes itself by the impressive collection of special beers that will get your head spinning just from having to make a choice. You can also just try them all of course, but I would recommend coming back a few times - don't do it at the first visit.
I had the surprise to see that this bar with a lovely terrace is even baby-friendly. Not so long ago, I was catching up with a couple of friends who had just become parents and their daughter seemed quite happy to spend a few hours there.
The service was friendly and pretty quick and the beers were worthy of the title "special beer". You could name a taste and they would have it.
There's quite some traffic passing by on the street so I wouldn't count on a silent place to work with this one. The best advice is to go with a group of friends that's louder than the traffic. You get the idea, right?
And since beer is considered food by some people, but not by everyone, you are safe here snack-wise. The options are varied and there are even some healthy choices available.
If wine is more your thing than beer, you will be glad to discover that their menu has a few refined choices of wine too.
The best part is that you'll get a taste of the "wild" west of Rotterdam. You can't miss this area of the city -- it's an exciting experience.
