PARQIET is a really lovely cafe in the middle of ‘Het Park’. You’ll instantly feel welcome here as the staff is super friendly.
The name Parqiet is so obvious when you hear groups of ring-necked parakeets chattering shrilly above your head when you walk through the park. The café is located in an old coach house from 1858 and has a romantic but contemporary ambiance and a wonderful terrace overlooking a great lawn, surrounded by old trees.
Inside this dog- and child-friendly place you’ll find different seating areas, like 2 lazy chairs around a wood burner, a long reading table, and small tables for two or four along the side. They have nice art hanging on the wall and an open kitchen. When the weather is nice, they’ll bring out the beach chairs and open the small mobile bar on the lawn.
We like to stop at Parqiet for a good coffee with sugar-free sweets by Sue. Order scrambled eggs with bacon for breakfast, mackerel-cream sandwich or beetroot-apple and parsley on my favorite bread for lunch. Read the weekend newspaper or just meet up with friends for drinks with snacks in a perfect setting.
When the weather is great, they open the outdoor bar at the big lawn, where you can also sit in beach chairs. The only downside is that they close at 18:00 🙁
