The Conservatory of Flowers is an impressive place. Pretty much year round the grounds are a carpet of colors. On nice days the place is full of people having picnics or just laying in the grass. The building itself is an impressive structure as well, containing hundreds of rare and exotic plants. Behind it though is the Dahlia Dell, a sectioned-off area planted full with vibrant dahlias. They begin to bloom in June and make for a very colorful summer as they reach their peak in September but can be viewed into the fall. There are always groups posing for photos and photographers vying for the perfect shot, a testament to the beauty of the dell.
Definitely bring a blanket and a book, the Conservatory is pretty hard to beat when it comes to places to enjoy a nice day.
