Tunnels in Golden Gate Park San Francisco – Love in the park

"When walking in the Tunnels in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, keep your eyes peeled for the human element residing in the city and its surprises..."

There are many special things to love about San Francisco: from great restaurants to scenic vistas, trendy shops, museums, etc. All of these are lovely, but it’s also nice to find the human elements that can be caught daily. The people that reside in San Francisco can be just as beautiful. You can spot random acts of kindness, acts of love, and friendly gestures if you look close enough. One of my favorite memories of spotting something beautiful like this was on a date, years ago.

My date and I met at a coffee shop in the Haight, hit it off, and decided to walk into Golden Gate Park. While walking along, we came across three jazz musicians playing in a tunnel in front of the Conservatory of Flowers. We sat, holding hands, basking in the perfect weather, enjoying the music perfectly echoing through the tunnel. It was beginning to feel like a Nancy Meyers movie. It was almost too perfect. As if anything could get better, we decided to walk through the tunnel to the knoll on the other side. At the other end of the tunnel was a couple dancing delicately along to the melody of a Louis Armstrong song.

I was taken aback by this wonderful surprise. They appeared to be unaware of anyone, and completely enraptured with each other. I love that the music inspired them to dance - and that I got to witness it. I try to look out for these little special moments.
