There is no shortage of sports bars in San Francisco. We love watching winning teams and we have quite a few. When the S.F. Athletic Club opened up, I was skeptical. Another sports bar??!!
Well, we can't have too many. You can easily catch the Warriors and 49ers games. Any sport you can think of will be televised here.
Today there are crowds of sports fans around the building. But, when there are no games, it's a fun and relaxing place to hang out for the neighbourhood and visitors.
On tap, they have everything from local beers including Anchor Steam to international favourites like Guinness Irish Stout. California wines are featured. The food is good and fun with amusing names like "slaw dog millionaire" and "not another grilled cheese". Californians love sriracha sauce. Try the sriracha chili buffalo wings, with a glass of milk on the side.
Local teams have kept this place busy with championship win and close calls over the years. You can see big international events or college sports with a great crowd. Or, just come in and enjoy a fun afternoon with friends.
