I woke up at 05:30 one morning to get to the top of this park in order to see the sunrise, although the sunrise is quite unpredictable in the city. Unfortunately for us, Karl the Fog was hanging low that morning, and he got in the way of our beautiful morning. However, this park is fantastic. There are sweeping 360 degree views of the city unlike any other viewpoint I have visited in the city. You can see Twin Peaks not too far away, and unlike Twin Peaks, every side of this park has great views.
There are two ways to get to the top of the park (where you can sit on a giant rock). You can climb up the back way from 15th and have a bit of a hike to the top, or you can climb the steps from Roosevelt way with no struggle at all.
People love to bring their dogs to this park for a great little walk, but even without a dog it's perfect. I know I'll be back to try and catch a real sunrise or sunset!
