Two days a week, UN Plaza is transformed into the only independent non-profit Farmers Market in San Francisco. For the people, by the people.
It's historic. The United Nations really started right here. It's a really busy space. People flow through on their way to work at City Hall, the Courthouse, and the various artistic venues around civic center.
What I like most is the friendliness of most of the farmers. After a few visits, they know your preferences and make recommendations. You'll find things that locals love. The olive oil is fresh and amazing right out of the bottle. Almonds are available almost year round. Everything is colourful and delicious. Persimmons are available! And, of course, there are avocados. It's California. We love avocados and kale on everything!
Here, you can buy local and eat local. California cuisine at its best!
