Tucked away on the edge of Land's End are the beautiful Lincoln Park steps. The steps were re-done in 2007 and designed by local artist Aileen Barr. They are found at the end of a small side-street of an apartment complex, and lead up to the beginning of the park and golf course. They are perfect to go see on a sunny or cloudy afternoon, like I did, before taking a stroll through Land's End.
I had a fantastic time playing on the steps for awhile with a friend - we slid down the banisters, took some jumping pictures, and just enjoyed their beauty. When we got dropped off at the stairs, we hung out there for awhile, then took the path at the top to the right which leads down to the entrance of the Land's End trail. This trail will take you all around the coast of the city, with sweeping views (on a clear-ish day) of the Golden Gate bridge.
San Francisco, with all its hills, is known for many of its staircases, and this is probably my new favorite one.
