They say first impressions are everything. My first impression of Pearl when I stepped inside the first time was the gorgeous airy atmosphere of high ceiling and beautiful tile. I got the feeling right away that this was going to be a pleasing dining experience. And that feeling isn’t always evoked when walking into a restaurant. It felt special inside. The vibe is modern Mediterranean with a San Francisco twist.

I’m partial to sitting at the chef’s table which is placed at the bar facing the hardworking team of chefs. They seem to read each other’s minds and are focused on making each dish. It’s an immersive dining experience to sit there and indulge in the craft of fine cooking! The ambience makes you fall in love and eager to engage closer with the person you’re sharing your meal with. It’s hard not to enjoy the tasteful flavors of Mediterranean-meets- California styling. Listen in to the people sitting around you – you can most assuredly hear their delight with each bite. And you will absolutely enjoy their cocktails. They are so beautiful and showcased in classy glassware. Everything is so tastefully done at Pearl.

In addition, I learned that the building was formerly a laundromat back in the day. When you see the layout of the restaurant you can make out certain foundational elements that would hark back to such a business. A bit of backstory like that is just another reason that makes this space interesting.
