If you are in Skopje, someone's probably already told you to go and enjoy the Old Bazaar (check the Old Bazaar article). What they might not have told you is that between all those oriental pastry shops you will find an original American bakery, with all the brownies and cheesecakes you can imagine.
I love this one, because it always has something new to offer, apart from the regular muffin, or brownie, and especially because of its location, in a picturesque, steep alley of the Bazaar. The staff is always friendly and happy to suggest a new flavor, and they have killer banana splits and magnificent coffee.
So, if you're trying the classic Skopje sherbet-smothered sweets, make sure you leave some room for some American sugary goodness as well.
I'd start off with some fruit-covered cheesecake and coffee, and afterwards, there's a whole menu of delight to go through. You won't be able to try everything, but that's simply a reason to come back for more.
