Macedonians generally love to have barbecues and picnics. Unfortunately, a couple of years ago a law was instated, that forbids starting fire in an open space, for the prevention of wildfires. Thus, the joy of spending your weekends roasting meat and drinking beer with your friends, has been limited only to those lucky enough to have a house with a backyard. Well, not anymore.
Some dude came up with the idea to mix traditional Barbecue and restaurant. So now we have "Skara Bar", or literally translated "Barbecue Bar". You will get a big table with a grill on it, and then you can order meat to your liking and cook it by yourself. They've got a great choice of meat: chicken, pork, veal, even fish. The salads and all the other side dishes come straight from the kitchen, so you can keep your main focus on your grilling skills. A big vent hangs above the grill at every table, so you don't have to worry about the smell of cooking meat from a half a dozen grills at the same time. Make sure you make a reservation, so they can prepare the grill for you.
Of course, you can always tell the waiter that you want your food prepared by the Chef, but where is the fun in that.
