Club Peroto located in the building of the National Palace of Culture (NDK) is a place for literature and reading which works 24 hours, 7 days a week.
You can't miss the stairs that take you to the main entrance - they represent book spines of Bulgarian editions. Perfect spot for photos!
Inside Peroto it is full with books (mainly in Bulgarian) which you can look through and read for free. Peroto hosts a bar so you can have a glass of wine or a cup of tea while you are resting with a book in hand. The place is good both for work and for meeting up with friends. Be prepared: there is no food and it is self-service.
This cultural spot has also a kid corner for reading and other art and craft activities and lately there's also the Peroto bookstore that has opened: it is a small place next to the kids corner where you can buy books.
Almost every night there is a literature meeting or a book launch. Sometimes there are private events so be sure to check the programme on Facebook if you plan to go after 18:30.
It is a nice choice for a cosy meeting or a peaceful spot for reading and work when I can't concentrate at home.
