"La Pentola Mágica" in Madrid makes the best Italian food I ever had. The chef's a character, the food's amazing... I can't stress it enough. Just go.

"Bodega de la Ardosa" in Madrid is 'castizo' -- pure, genuine. This kind of bar is in danger of extinction, so enjoy it while it's still alive!
By
"Tapería La Pequeña Graná" in Madrid is still holding on to the proper tradition of tapas -- more and more difficult to find. Also, they have great beer!
By
"Cafe Berlin" in Madrid is a legendary club that has concerts and music until the early hours in the morning! It is a mix of cinema, theater & 20s bar...
By
"Taberna La Daniela" serves Madrid's typical meal, the cocido madrileño. For many locals, it's a tradition to come eat here at least once a year!
By
"Terraza Atenas" in Madrid is right next to the Palacio Real, the river Manzanares & Viaducto de Segovia. It's an outdoor bar with just the right hipness.
By
"El Capricho Extremeño" is a minuscule take-away in Madrid with excellent food and a great atmosphere. You should definitely go around 13:30 on a Sunday...

About me
Since my childhood, almost since birth (in Bilbao) I've lived abroad. I have lived in London, Belgium, Santiago de Chile, Haarlem, Amsterdam, Barcelona, and my hometown Madrid. Therefore, my DNA makes me curious about different cultures.
I have lived in Madrid as a child, teenager and university student. I left during my adulthood and returned as a father, and as a result I have observed the city from different points of view. I love exploring and sharing Madrid's lifestyle and what it has to offer.
I consider myself to be a multifaceted person who is interested in many different aspects of life. I strongly believe in placing yourself occasionally out of your comfort zone and remaining open is positive.
Why Madrid
Madrid offers a friendly and hectic energy. It's not the easiest city to grasp at first glance. You must get deep into it to really understand it, in my humble opinion.
It's a metropolis which offers entertainment for any kind of person. It's a city which has a healthy mixture between European and Spanish culture. Nightlife and bars are its strongest features, but culture lovers: you won't get bored at all! Also, its surroundings are full of nature gems. Everybody can find their Madrid, you just need to search for it.
Finally, the best thing for me are the local people. Historically, Madrid was an intersection and a strategic location for Spain. You can notice this in its attitude: it's inviting and open. There is a saying that captures what I mean in one sentence, "Si vives en Madrid, eres de Madrid". Welcome to my city!
