I was born in Tashkent, in the Old City (Eski Shahar). This part of the city is famous for its old authentic architecture, buildings etc. But these are not the only things that make this place famous. The other thing is the national cuisine and food. There is a special spot where you can find fresh national types of breads, dairy products and national food. It is "Chig'atoy Bozor", or you can name "Chig'atoy Market".
As for me, on a weekly basis I visit this market to buy different types of breads (patir, shirmoy and etc.) and dairy products (qaymoq - double cream, milk etc.). You have to see it yourself in order to feel it. Moreover, you can try Uzbek national meals like shashlik, honim and others. There are a lot of options for Uzbek food lovers.
When you visit Tashkent, you should not miss this spot.
