An awesome place for those who are fond of everything fresh, organic, and cheap. Farhod Bozori, popularly known as Farhadskiy is located on the southern side of Tashkent in the Chilonzor district. Thousands of citizens come here for the excellent choice of groceries and food.
Farhadskiy has several entrances and is divided into three sections. The first section's counters are better organized & decorated compared to the second, where prices are slightly cheaper. I have also noticed that sellers in the latter section are friendlier. In both sections you will see a rainbow of colorful garden-fresh fruits, vegetables, national nuts and of course Uzbek bread!
Section three is the wholesale part of the bazar. You can purchase groceries in large amounts only. Sometimes farmers sell potatoes right from the back of the food truck.
My family is very loyal to Farhadskiy bazar, especially my mother who comes here at least twice a week. When I asked why Farhadskiy, her answer was simple: “Everything is orderly, clean, the sellers deliver lots of fresh groceries.”
The last time I visited Farhadskiy, it was strawberry season. The aromatic scent of ripe strawberry was all around. To see and smell the freshness of berries boosted my mood. I have realized that the availability of fresh groceries is what makes me come here again and again.
Tip: The evening market is cheaper, as sellers need to get rid of leftovers. Also, keep bargaining: it is the best part of doing shopping in any bazar!
