Trendy diets come and go, but few would dispute that reducing refined sugar in your diet is ever a bad thing. Organic Food in Tashkent's C1 area is all about healthier options when gorging on cake, ice cream, and bread. Stocking sugar-free desserts and gluten-free bread and pasta, this health-focused cafe and shop has become one of the area's most popular cafes.
If, like me, you're sensitive to certain foods and eating sugary, processed foods makes you feel groggy, then this might be the place for you. In a city where bread surfaces at almost every meal, it's hard to find alternative options. As far as I'm aware, it's the only place in the city that sells health-oriented organic and gluten-free produce.
They have a diverse menu that includes sugar and lactose-free ice cream, sugarless cakes, gluten-free bread and pasta, and even gluten-free samosas. Their shop also sells all kinds of alternative products like stevia and gluten-free flour.
As everything is imported, it comes at a slightly higher price than some other cafes in the area, but being able to gobble down snacks without the sugar hangover is worth it, at least in my opinion. The staff don't speak perfect English but are incredibly helpful. Even going as far as holding my 4-month-old as I quickly gulp down my Americano!
