Well, everyone here complains about unbearable traffic and noise, especially in the city center. And obviously everyone tries to escape from it. I can teach you a good solution. Just take the cable car from Chavchavadze Street to Turtle Lake. Step into it, open your eyes wide and enjoy each second of your six-minute journey.
Tbilisi is surrounded by mountains. At the bottom of one of them there is a small lake called ‘Turtle Lake’. In order to reach it, most people usually take a taxi or a car, but I would suggest you take the cable car.
The rope-way and the two blue cable cars were renovated. The cable cars take approximately 6 minutes to reach their destination. Each one holds a maximum of 12 people onboard and it’s also adapted for disabled people too. The price of a one-way ticket is just 1 GEL, you just need to have the card that is used for the public transport in the city.
During the cable car journey, I always enjoy the feelings I have. It feels like flying above the city. As for the view, from one side there is a nice and enjoyable view of mountains, and from the other there is a city panorama.
Walking across the tiny Turtle Lake and enjoying your time is a good solution to get away from the noisy city life. As for taking the cable car, it's a good solution for more adventures and more lovely moments.
