Maybe the best souvlaki in town is served in Derlikatesen. Souvlaki or “meat on a stick” is the speciality of the store, and if you are there at rush hour, you will see hundreds of souvlakis on their grills, waiting for you to eat them.
They have many choices on their menu, but I would recommend you try the “Dikavalo” one. This is tortilla, filled with two souvlaki. The person who will prepare your order will ask you what you want to put inside, but I am letting you know that they mostly serve it with yogurt sauce.
You can also try a different one, like the “Souvlouri”. Souvlouri (a combination of the word souvlaki and koulouri) is served in a koulouri stick. They open a hole in the middle, and they put the souvlaki in it!
Of course don't miss to order one “Kastanati” potato, which is a whole potato baked with the skin in an oven-like machine. They cut it in half and they put yogurt sauce on top. The potato lovers will love it!
