Thessaloniki is an urban city, full of street art, often quirky and old-school. During the summer, as I was strolling along the seafront (check the "Thessaloniki Seafront – Bicycle ride and sunset" article) trying to reach the port, hidden away less than a meter above the surface of the water I saw a small heart made of tiny tiles on the wall.
It instantly became one my favorite pieces of street art -- so simple yet so original, reminding you that in the mad world we live in, love is not dead, or perhaps that you can find love even at the most unexpected places, or just maybe how much this city loves the sea.
Unique artwork and endless walks by the sea are really in my top reasons to choose Thessaloniki for a relaxing vacation.
You should combine visiting the tile heart with a lazy walk by the waterfront, a must for locals on weekend evenings, a cold coffee, a good friend or a good book on the deck chairs, right next to it, at the port.
Also, let's be honest, this cute 8bit-like heart would look great on your Instagram feed!
