Teenage memories
Back in high school I used to listen to a lot of rock and metal music. To this day I still don’t know why, but Lulishtja Vellezerit Frasheri (The Frasheri Brothers Park) was like a meeting point for rock and metal fans. Now every time I walk past it or decide to sit, it brings back so many memories, good and bad!
It is named after three Albanian writer brothers whose last name was Frasheri and whose busts stand in the middle of the area. Mostly it is referred to as “Te vellezerit” meaning “At the brothers”.
The red walls of the place used to be covered in graffiti mostly consisting of rock and metal bands’ names. A few years ago the graffiti was all covered over, but some new ones are appearing now.
Lulishtja is located near The Pyramid right next to the Twin Towers. There is a small area with toy cars for kids, a quiet coffee place named West and concrete benches to sit, the walls are perfectly fine to sit on, too. At the corner of the street there is a mini-bakery, called Laguna, whose pizzas I adore! So most of the time when I sit there, I buy some pizza from Laguna, although they also make desserts and pies.
So all in all it makes for a nice place to sit, be it alone or with friends. And if you’re hungry, Laguna is right around the corner.
