Childhood memories
Švejk Beer Garden or Lulishte 1 Maji (in English 1st of May Park) reminds me of my childhood. I remember my first time in Tirana. My father took me there. Lulishte 1 Maji is one of the few places which, even though it changed its name to Svjek Beer Garden, everybody still knows as Lulishte 1 Maji. Usually cafes, bars, restaurants and hotels change their name very often in Tirana and they are forgotten, but not Lulishte 1 Maji.
Every time I pass by or I go to Švejk Beer Garden I think of my first time in Tirana and of my dad. That makes me think of how much Tirana has changed. However a few things still remain that make me think of the previous Tirana, the transformation and the current Tirana at the same time.
Švejk Beer Garden is a coffee and pizza place located close to the city center, in particularly close to the Pedonalja e Tiranës street and Ura e Tabakëve (Tanners' Bridge). From there I can easily head to the street of Elbasan, which takes me to my favorite cafe street. Thus, being at Švejk makes me feel safe, since it includes my childhood memories. Furthermore, it is a huge place and the outdoor area has a nice garden which makes me really enjoy my time there.
Švejk Beer Garden has gotten its name from the Czech soldier Švejk and it offers various Czech beers.
