Era Vila is the second restaurant in the ‘Era’ family and is a definite ‘must-visit’ for any foodie travelling in Tirana. The menu is full of hundreds of inexpensive and delicious traditional dishes, so there is something for everyone. I would recommend ordering a few different small plates and sharing with some friends, and if you’re struggling to decide, the waiters and waitresses will be happy to give you recommendations.
For those visiting Tirana for the first time, Era Vila is a perfect spot to try all the traditional dishes you may never have heard of or tried. I would not say the chefs cater deliberately to foreign tastes but rather that they do know them very well, and therefore, I do believe that you will fall in love with the flavours of Albania at this spot.
A personal favourite of mine from Era is the Fasule pllaqi me suxhuk Kosove, essentially handmade baked beans (for those Brits who are imagining a tin of Heinz beans, I can assure you, as delicious as they are, these are nothing like that!). There is a real creamy texture and depth of flavour provided by the smoky suxhuk sausage, unlike anything you’ve ever tasted.
The restaurant is located right next to the Air Albania Stadium and is just a stone’s throw from the main boulevard, so it is easily accessible on foot from anywhere in the city.
