If you look at the map of Turin to see where this restaurant is located, you might find no other real reason to go to this residential neighborhood; a shopping street, an outskirt somnolent atmosphere and the impression you have landed in a small city of Piedmont. But here's the trick: hidden in a very unglamorous street with small buildings which remind us that the area was still countryside until the '50s, the Osteria Antiche Sere (meaning "Ancient Evenings") is one of those authentic places which is worth a detour to discover.
This place was opened 26 years ago by Danielle and his sister when he was 18. They opted to bring what they remember from their Grandma's Novara cooking to the city: and indeed the point of this type of restaurant is both to provide good quality and pleasant dining experiences but also to offer meals in a responsible and sustainable manner and let you experience traditional dishes like they were prepared years ago: simple, healthy and very enjoyable. And you have a special meal, prepared on the basis of an entree, main and second dish (three different choices, and believe me, it will be a hard choice) with a large selection of Piedmontese wines.
What more can I say? Buon appetito!
