I'm usually very open minded in terms of food. I really like to try different kind of cuisines. Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Mexican... everything.
BUT...
When it comes to Italian dishes I'm really really precise in the choice of restaurant.
Pizza, pasta and desserts are my "tests" for a new place to try.
My choice of pizza is Neapolitan pizza. Big fluffy crust and great ingredients in the middle. But It MUST NOT make me excessively thirsty and full afterward.
What I'm looking for is a pizza made with a great and slow and well risen dough.
I found my perfect pizza here at "Osteria la Capannina".Â
The atmosphere is elegant but not discomforting. The waiters are extremely well mannered (that's not an option for me - it's a basic requirement). There is pizza menu and also normal menu with some daily dishes written on a board.
The pizzas are great. I recommend you the one with tomato sauce, fried eggplants and hard ricotta cheese grated on top. That one's the best. And yes, It is the kind of pizza I use as a test to calibrate my preferences in restaurants.
In the picture I took you can see a daily dessert: It's called "Paciugo" and it's made with raspberries, gelato and whipped cream. Really rich and fresh at the same time. In Italian the term "paciugo" is a synonym for "mix of random things". I think that's a funny name.
