Imagine a one-room shop distinguished by shabby chic style, cute cake stands and steaming mugs. Add a young woman frosting tons of beautiful cupcakes, slicing luxurious chocolate cakes, arranging apple pies, carrot cakes and massive cookies on the counter. Then top everything off with kindness and answers to all your questions about the products and you’ve obtained “Sweet Lab”, suitable for every time of the day, from breakfast to late evening snacks.
You can easily have a great lunch by choosing some variations of croque monsieurs and bagels or by having a brunch. That is composed by a wide display of sweet and savory dishes and freshly squeezed orange juice.
If you’re a bit too late for lunch but early for dinner you can help your stomach with a classic afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and biscuits. And great quality tea, of course.
It’s worth naming the dish for all the indecisive people, stunned by all the sweets proposed in plain sight: you can choose the “Display of desserts” and let the staff choose.
Last time I had a whoopie pie, two mini-cupcakes, a slice of carrot and almonds cake, devil’s food cake and NY cheesecake with raspberry sauce. I highly recommend sharing or at least a two days’ fasting before visiting this spot. If you are more of a savory person I recommend a Brie, honey, nuts and lavender croque monsieur. Sublime.
Just go, try and be amazed. And then come again and try something different.
