It is possibly the place to taste the best horchata with fartons in Valencia. This family establishment, which has been passed down from generation to generation, was founded in 1949 in the neighbouring town of Alboraya, although it already has two establishments in the city.
Horchata is a traditional Valencian drink, refreshing and sweet, prepared with water, sugar, and tiger nuts. It is a tuber with a lot of health benefits and nutritional properties that are grown in the fields near the city. I love drinking this cold drink in the hottest months, accompanied by delicious fartons, a typical sweet and long bun that is dipped in horchata.
Horchatería Daniel has an outdoor terrace and a large indoor dining room decorated with photos of the history of this establishment. Many famous people have visited it, such as the painter Salvador Dalí or the poet Rafael Alberti. For those with a sweet tooth, they have all kinds of traditional local pastries, as well as artisan ice creams, slushies or coffees that will delight visitors at any time of the day. They also have a takeaway pack that contains 1 litre of horchata and 6 fartons so you can enjoy it at home!
