Bernardinų sodai is a unique XIXth century park in Vilnius’ city center. This park is also known as Sereikiškių Park, but after a reconstruction (it was reopened in September 2013), the old name of the park was returned.
To be honest, I can’t imagine any town or city without a park (or parks). But why is this park special, why can’t a lot of people imagine their week without visiting it? To be honest, Bernardinų sodai is a very specific place in which you can find everything that you might need! It is a place where lots of locals and visitors can meet each other, where people can relax, have fun and feel the peace of nature!
If you think that a park is just a place for walks – forget it! Bernardinų sodai is a place where you can learn more about Lithuania, the plants that grow here, you can play chess (yes, there are chess boards!) or petanque (the only open-air court in Vilnius), you have a chance to enjoy the musical fountains and there are also lots of different playgrounds for your kids!
