First - a good attitude and some great beer. Second - a convenient, but untraditional location. Third - a non-clichéd name, which will be remembered easy. This is a recipe for making a hip bar, easy. Even being so easy it really worked well for Used Men ("Dėvėti vyrai" a.k.a. "Dėvėti" in Lithuanian).
Over the years they've become a small sanctuary for bar-hopping locals and nosy city visitors. Dėvėti is a great example of quality over quantity. The rather simple, manly interior with some rough details somehow makes you feel cozy and comfortable. The cuisine there is simple, but tasty – a few great street styled dishes and some delicious snacks, such as olives or potato chips.
But for a moment forget about the food. The beers in Dėvėti are provided by my most beloved Lithuanian brewery "Dundulis". This brewery forms half of the beer menu, but there are always enough of rotating taps and good choice of bottled beers. They also have some cider, champagne and something heavier (like rum or whiskey) if need be. And if you're into cocktails – they'll shake a proper one too.
Dėvėti works till late, has a foosball table, great fast food and is situated about 200 meters away from my home, so what can I say? This is an "A" spot for me to grab a beer with my friends (or maybe socialise with cool strangers for the whole evening - works well too).
