"It is true that whiskey improves with age. The older I get, the more I like it" - such a cheesy internet quote, yet so mesmerizingly accurate! For a fair amount of my legal drinking time I didn't appreciate whiskey enough, or should I just say - I was a bit more interested in the price tag rather than what went beyond it. But as in the quote, with age, bit by bit I grew fonder of this beverage. I could say we became good "friends."

As most of us do, I always enjoy meeting up with a "friend" or two. And one of the better places to do it in Vilnius is in Duoklė angelams (I insist you ask the bartender about the name). It's a whiskey shop slash whiskey bar slash cocktail spot. To be precise, actual human friends coming together with you for a dram make it even better.

Duoklė angelams has an outstanding whiskey collection to choose from and the staff is unpretentiously knowledgeable in the field. I easily get lost looking for a trophy between the shelves of their whiskey shop room. After the shop's working hours they open up as bar. Whiskey or whatever needs you may have, perhaps a cocktail or a well-sourced rum, you will be met with arms wide open. The quality atmosphere makes this place irresistible to minds alike. No drama, just a few good drams. Pun intended.
