VU Planetariumas – the Vilnius University Planetarium, is a spot which I would recommend to you if you love stargazing, like I do! The place is located in Vilnius city centre, the building was built in 1989 and Vilnius can be proud that it is the only city in Lithuania which has a specialized astronomy center.
The building is notable for its massive dome, do not forget to look at it from the outside! The dome covers a huge observation hall, where astronomy lectures take place. I would recommend you visit a lecture, but my advice before going to the planetarium is to arrange in advance, because they hold lectures only when a sufficient amount of people has expressed interest.
The Planetarium also host art exhibitions, which change from time to time, so check their web page if you're interested!
VU Planetarium also host various music events; they have an amphitheater hall for concerts. I love to attend performances there. The VU Planetarium has great acoustics, which are good for listening to great music.
