Raj was opened recently on the last weekend of October 2016 and it was a hit immediately (all tables booked for the opening weekend). There is an American restaurant with Hawaiian inspirations (Boys Meat Girls) but the first real Hawaiian restaurant – that’s really something interesting. Raj wants to be “a paradise in the city jungle”, that’s what we read on their FB profile.
On the menu you will find great bowls with fruit and veg (starting from as little as 21.90 PLN, about € 5), breakfasts i.e. Spam Musubi, Haupia pancakes or paradise porridge. Apparently this is the first restaurant serving bowls in Poland.
Based in an awful pavilion basin with declining bars and clubs, dirty backyards and forever-closed gates at the back of ul. Nowy Świat, this place might really make a difference. Make sure you check out their wonderful interiors – palm trees, colourful dishes with edible flowers, lovely stylish tables.
Raj might be a bit tough to find – you enter the big pavillon-like building on its Southern side, opposite the public Janusz Korczak School. The place is located just on the back of Nowy Świat 21 and you can enter through one of the gates form ul. Nowy Świat.
In summer, check their small garden to relax while having splendid food and drinks.
