Vegan is no longer something "unusual" or "special" in Warsaw. Just a few years ago, if you were looking for vegan food, you wouldn't have had much luck at all. Now Warsaw is teeming with amazing, high-quality vegan food. Especially in the center of the city. Within just a few blocks you can get vegan sushi, pizza, burgers, falafel, Polish schabowy cutlets, and... Mexican food!
You could easily walk by it. Easily miss it on a busy side street. I must admit I passed it hundreds of time, without stopping to check it out. However, if you take the time to actually pay attention to what you are passing, you will discover a couple of steps going down, a small entrance, and a small joint inside. Welcome to Momencik Vegan Burritos & Tacos! You will be greeted by a lovely staff and lovely owner and... tons of delicious food. Whether you choose a taco, a burrito or a lunch special (big burrito + soup of the day + home-made lemonade), you will not be disappointed. You think that there is no such thing as a good burrito without meat? Let them prove you wrong! I can tell you here and now, that I am a meat-eater, and I still find Momencik's food awesome!
Hope for the gazpacho as the soup of the day (YUM! Especially on a hot summer's day) and be sure to try the yellow sauce!
And now I'm hungry...
