One of my favorite spots in Warsaw is Resort.
What I like most about the place is the concept. This is the first bar in Poland's capital that has embraced the philosophy of the 3Rs: reduce, reuse, recycle. In fact everything in the bar is made of old stuff converted into new furniture, with a design touch of course.
Making the line for a beer can be entertaining, so I like to talk to people that I do not know (I'm not a stalker anyway, hehe), or sometimes just read the title of the books piled on the bar desk stands, lit with lamps made from old washing-machine centrifuges or old bottles.
The style is definitely the most interesting aspect of the place. The beers are not really unusual, since they sell mostly famous brands, but still on the ground floor they offer a range of spectacles such as theater shows or concerts.
The staff is really friendly and allow customers to organize different kinds of events open to the rest of the public, so it is perfect for celebrations. Still it can be very busy, especially on weekends, so better make a reservation to make sure there will be place to sit. Couchsurfers are very welcome and meet here usually.
During spring and summer, the sunset can be surprising - the Opera Narodowa building just in front of the bar is the ideal background for nice chats with friends.
