I came upon U Krawca by coincidence while looking for pet-friendly cafes in Grochów and fell in love instantly with their cakes; first on screen, then in reality. The cafe is distinguished by a great selection of cakes, cookies and layer cakes - last time they served me a lovely fruity Red Velvet. There are also some classic choices like lemon cake with meringue or cheesecake with raspberry sauce. You can also enjoy some savory snacks: tarts and soups are always on the menu.
U Krawca won Gazeta Wyborcza's award for best place for working outside home, and you can see most of the customers reading, immersed in their laptop or books. The place is tiny - it has maybe 8 tables inside and 3 tables outside altogether, but it really is a nice locale to have a relaxing afternoon in.
For a tea / coffee and a cake you will pay around 15 PLN (about €3). U Krawca was nominated by Kukbuk, a Polish magazine for food and cooking as one of Warsaw's best coffee places.
