Poplavok is a small park located in the center of Yerevan. It's named after a cafe located near the lake. Overall, there's nothing interesting in the place, as nowadays it's an ordinary park with a few trees, several cafes and places to sit and chill. The interesting thing about this place is its history and the people you can meet there.
In Soviet times, this place used to be the spot where "True Yerevantsis" (true inhabitants of Yerevan) got together. These were the artists, architects, singers, writers, etc. I enjoy sitting in one of the cafes near the lake and having fun while listening to music by Forsh, a local singer, one of those "true Yerevantsis." This gives me a sense of belonging to the city.
Although there's not much to do in winter, you can still cross by and see the place.
