Opening the curtain and stepping into Kokoro feels a bit like entering some parallel world. Far away from the hustle and bustle of Langstrasse, the scenery changes completely. The setting reminds me of a Japanese living room turned into a restaurant – heartwarming and cheerful. This could easily be their motto. From the lovely smiley staff over the comfort food to the handwritten menu of the day chalkboard.
The restaurant strikes all the right chords for me when I need an honest Nippon meal prepared with love. Their sushi and sashimi are out of this world. You don't feel fishy? There are many mouthwatering alternatives, such as the succulent Yakiniku (rib-eye beef straight from the hot pan) or the sinful fried eggplant... I keep my sweet tooth happy with their homemade treats. What's not to like about a matcha lava cake? However, the secret star is the wasabi ice cream. It is just tantalizing!
