A bar named after the most intelligent, the capital of arts or just a great city in Russia, nowadays known as St. Petersburg. To my opinion Leningrad is a great name for a bar.
The atmosphere there is very artsy because of an audience who adores the bar. Of course, the interior plays a role too – it is like an apartment from the dark times, when the Soviet Union ruled our lives.
When I enter the premises of Leningrad it feels like I am at a cool house party. I think there is something magical in the air or maybe it is because of the beer… who knows!? The bar is almost always crowded during the weekend nights so it is possible to get lost here, to forget about world outside the doors… and that’s cool. I like to give the Leningrad a visit almost every night when I hit the streets of Old Town to have a good time and a crazy party and not sit at a table covered with a white cloth.
A personal tip – when it comes to beer drinking in Leningrad try Madonas beer or Leningrad mead.
Live music, alcohol, punks and other odd fishes, chats, laughter and jolly good times. Like the famous saying of Lenin was: “Learn, learn, learn!” the same can be said about Leningrad: “Party, party, party!”
